POLLYSTIK MASTIC FILLER TAPE
send enquiry

Pollystik is a waterproof mastic compound in tape form, for manual wrapping used for forming a profile to flanges, spigot joints, weld seams and pipe fittings such as valves etc., or it can be used as a double sided adhesive tape along with an outerwrap.

Pollystik is supplied with a release paper on both sides.

It is used to form an excellent profile to enable the tape to be wrapped easily even over irregular profiles such as nuts and bolts on valves flanges or any fittings. Pollystik is thus, described as mastic in sheet form by corrosion engineers.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
The surface of the substrate should be cleaned then primed( using Pollycote Primer) prior to application. Pollystik is applied by hand.(Gloves should be worn at all times).
- Peel back approximately 30 cms of the release liner .
- Place into position on one face of the surface.
- Peel back to release the liner, while at the same time pressing Pollystik into place.
Pollystik combines the corrosion protection and adhesive properties of the Pollycote range of tapes, to form a shaped filler which effectively moulds and profiles any pipe accessory. It is quick and easy to apply.

Its high-tack adhesive will stick to the surface of the steel and enhance adhesiveness to the outer-wrap.

It is fully compatible with all the Pollyaim range of tapes (Pollycote-Politt-Pollatum) and with most of the cold applied tapes of other quality tape manufacturers.

The non-softening , non-hardening compound has excellent resistance to cathodic disbondment. Pollystik however, needs mechanical protection and should therefore, be over-wrapped with an outerwrap to give it extra protection. It can be over wrapped with any adhesive or non-adhesive Outerwrap since it has adhesive on both sides.

REPAIRING POLLYSTIK:
To remove existing Pollystik, all that is needed is a knife to cut and trowel to remove the existing Pollystik. After removing the existing Pollystik the surface should be cleaned using white spirit or any other suitable solvent. It may then be re-wrapped with Pollystik.
